When you know you can do more - that’s exactly how being involved with @The-Arete-Foundation over the past few years has made us feel. Here at F&D, we’ve always prided ourselves on being a young, energetic, and innovative organisation, constantly looking for the next big thing and striving to be the best of the best. And while we thought we were passionate and energetic, meeting the inspiring people behind the Arete Foundation showed us a whole new level of drive and determination - something we wanted to share with you.

Take a look at these photos from some of the amazing fundraising events we’ve had the privilege of being part of this year. You’ll see plenty of smiles and stacks of energy. But while it may look like we’re just having fun, it’s about so much more than that. Along the way, we’ve heard incredible stories that have truly touched our hearts.

The fundraising year wrapped up with the annual Diamond Ball, supporting both the Arete Foundation and @The-King’s-Trust, and raising an incredible £42,000. This event was particularly meaningful, as we not only contributed through donations and participation in the auction but also heard firsthand from the organisations supported by the Foundation. One standout moment was learning about the incredible Sunshine Coach - a specially-adapted, accessible minibus for SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) schools - which was delivered to Redbridge High School. Seeing the direct impact this has on the students and their families reminded us exactly why we do what we do. A huge thank you to @Amanda Hesketh and everyone at @Redbridge High School for your inspiring words.

In June, we joined the 2024 Snowdon ‘Triple Challenge’ in aid of @The-Inclusive-Hub-CIC. This incredible event involved a 20km cycle to the base of Snowdon, a 9-mile trek with a 1,085m ascent, and a 4km kayak to finish. It was a humbling experience, and we can’t thank everyone enough for their sponsorship and support. With times as tough as they are, your generosity means the world to us.
While less challenging, we were equally proud to participate in the annual Arete Foundation Golf Day this year. This event holds a special place in our hearts, as it launched the Foundation back in 2021 and remains one of its four key fundraisers.

Many of you - customers and installers—have caught the fundraising bug and joined us in supporting this incredible cause throughout the year. After hearing so many of you share the same drive to do more, we decided that instead of sending gifts, we’d focus our gratitude on donating and fundraising for this remarkable charity. With even more planned for 2025, we know you’ll want to get involved too.
