Do you need to leave a space behind the Woodford c500 inset stove when installing against a brick wall.

Thanks for your questions.
A gap will need to be provided at the rear even if fitted against a non-combustible (e.g. brick) wall, in order to avoid covering the air inlet openings on the bottom rear of the appliance. Further details can be found in the downloadable instructions PDF on the product page.
The c500 model does not come with a 4-sided frame but the c400 is available as a smaller 3-sided alternative:
